School Council Conference 2012
Kings Furlong Junior School is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. We value the things children tell us and enable children to have their say through the School Council. Members of the council are elected by the children in each class. Class council meetings are held regularly and matters are brought before the School Council by class council members. School Council meetings are held fortnightly.
In 2012 the Kings Furlong Junior School Council went to Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College for their annual Student Council Conference.
At Junior ‘Question Time’ Tom was able to ask his question, “What would you do to make it a fairer world for everyone so that all the UK have food, shelter, and their basic needs met?”
At the Ideas Market, our school councillors set up a stall to share the work that they had done developing learning skills in school.
They also took part in problem solving and team building activities, along with the school councillors from St John’s Primary School, Manor Field Junior School, Chalk Ridge Primary School and Oakley Junior School.
It was a great day and our school councillors were brilliant ambassadors for Kings Furlong Junior School.
