We want to say …

… a big thank you to every child in Year 3 for working so hard this half term!  We have been impressed by how quickly everyone has settled into Junior school life.  Thank you also to parents and carers who have supported their children with homework, reading and coming to school ready to learn!

A particular thank you must go to all the parents who have given up their time to walk to Basingstoke for Build-A-Bear, the library and the cinema, and to the parents who come into school to listen to readers and take part in Drop Everything And Read (DEAR).  We really appreciate your support.

This week we have been researching polar bears and the Arctic,  investigated how to stop ice from melting and watched polar bears in the wild.  We have also been practising our phonic sounds (ay, ie, ea, ou and oy) and our key words.

When we return after half term we are looking forward to seeing what the children have chosen to make for their homework and hearing all about their holidays.  (Don’t forget they can use the blog to share their adventures).

In school we will be getting into rubbish and investigating recycling and our local community.

Have a great holiday and see you all on Monday 5th November.
