This week in Year 5 w.c. 11.3.13

This week we have had a lot of fun filming our stop gap animations.  It has been very exciting looking at all the different ideas and seeing these come to life.  We have discovered how long they take and  all now appreciate the work that goes into films such as “Wallace and Gromit”.  The children are taking great pride in the magic stories they are writing.  Next week they will be publishing these so that each class will have their own collection of stories in a book – which will be available for a donation to Comic Relief.  On Friday 15th March we shall be celebrating Red Nose Day.  All the children will be taking part in activities around the school focusing on the reasons why money needs to be raised.  For a 50p donation the children can come to school wearing something red.  There will also be a cake sale after school, any donations for this will be gratefully received.

Next week we shall be looking at a book focusing on a young refugee.  This week’s homework is related to this, the Newsround website could be a useful resource.  A reminder that Friday 22nd March is an Inset day.
