Invading in Year 3 (wc 18.03.13)
This week in Year 3 we have been looking at newspaper reports, and have written short reports about our Red Nose Day last Friday.
On Monday we investigated and designed patterns for a Viking shield. We then made print blocks and made our own shields.
After lunch on Thursday, 3A held ‘A Thing’ (a Viking meeting) and decided to use those shields to invade 3C and steal their class bear and football. Of course, 3C felt they needed to invade 3A back and a battle began. It gave us a real chance to think about how it must have felt to invade others and also reflect on how it felt to be invaded.
Next week we will be writing up our reports on the events of ‘Invasion Day’ and looking at how our emotions change using the Easter story.
