This week in Y5 …… (15/9/17)

Both classes have been learning about one of the most famous men in history, Neil Armstrong.  We’ll be writing his biography next week using the skills we’ve been learning.

In Art, the children have used a range of pencils to draw meteorites.  They look great.

And finally we had some visitors in the week as part of the Mayor’s charity work who came in an taught the children folk music from around the world.  A great time was had by all.

Dates for your diary:

Sept 25th – Kandinsky to visit the Discovery Centre (free trip)

Sept 26th – Picasso to the Discovery Centre (free trip)

Sept 27th – We’d love you to being your favourite book in and read it with your child (and maybe one of their friends) for ‘Drop Everything and Read’.  There’ll be a quick meeting in the hall at 9.00 first.

October 9th – Our trip to Winchester.  Please send your form in if you haven’t already.

Sadly there is a stomach bug doing the rounds at the minute.  Can I remind you that we ask you to keep your children off school for 48 hours from their last episode before returning to school.  Many thanks.
