Highway improvement works – Packenham Road, Upper Chestnut Drive and Lower Chestnut Drive

We have been asked by Hampshire County Council to let you know about works which will be taking place starting on 26 March for 7 weeks. (see info below). These have been agreed to improved pedestrian access to the schools. They will do as much as they can during the Easter holidays but will, regrettably, need to do some works during the term too. Please see arrangements for Packenham Road in particular which will be blocked where the pedestrian crossing point is. Pedestrians will be able to cross a little further down during the works but cars will not be able to pass through.
Please could you avoid driving on Portacre Rise and Packenham Road to school? Ideally walk, scoot and cycle to school but, if you have to drive some of the way, please follow the guidance on the Park & Stride map and park a 5-10 minute walk away from the school. Parents walking via the Upper Chestnut Drive entrance will have to use the footway on the north side of the road whilst the southerly one is widened. If you have any queries you can contact the Roads and Transport department of Hampshire County Council on 0300 555 1388.
