Intent, Implementation and Impact
Learning a foreign language provides an opening to other cultures and opens our eyes to the diverse world around us. Around 30% of the children come to the KFJS with a wealth of experiences from their own home background. This diversity is embraced at KFJS and is promoted through the teaching of MFL, Teachers inspire children to be curious which will deepen their understanding of the variety of cultures around them. Lessons provide opportunities to communicate for practical purposes, learn new ways of thinking and experience literature from the original language and familiar texts that have been translated. By the time they leave our school, they have developed the foundations for learning further languages.
