Some of Young Interpreters had the privilege of representing the project throughout Hampshire, as their photo was on the front of the magazine- it's fab! Read more here.
The YI project has been short-listed in the "2013 Guardian Public Services Awards", and has been selected from a host of entries nationwide to go through to the final
judging stage which will take place in London on 12 November.
The project trains pupils in knowing how to support new pupils who may not speak English. It also aims to promote inclusion and overcome prejudice.
Special thanks to Mrs Peggrem, who led the group so well last year. We look forward to Mrs Brace taking on the role!
It was great to have so many ex-KFJS pupils visit us today, only this time it was as Cranbourne pupils! They gave a great presentation to our Year 5 and 6 pupils about what life is like at CBEC, what opportunities are available, and what to expect as a Year 7 pupil. Well done everyone, and a special thanks to the pupils.
Last year, parents mentioned about wanting to hear from other secondary schools. We've arranged for the Head Teacher of Aldworth Science College, Mr McCabe, to visit our pupils on Friday 11th October at 9am; parents are encouraged to attend. We are also in discussions with Costello- watch this space!
This week we're thinking about risk taking. Miss Dunn showed us in assembly how it pays to take risks. It can be scary, but when we push ourselves, we feel more confident and learn more. So whether it is putting our hands up to answer a question or attempting a difficult problem, just take the risk and go for it!

In July, we asked our pupils what they would like to see more of a KFJS to make their school even better. Playtimes are obviously a crucial part of their day. Click here to read the letter and see some of their suggestions!
