This week, we’re thinking about developing our learning behaviour of confidence. A close relative of ‘Risk Taking’, we’ll see how we can develop our own confidence, and how friends, family, and other adults are key to this. IE We develop confidence in each other, particularly through the words we say.
The children will be finishing off their termly assessments, too. Remember, we’ll be handing out Target Cards at the beginning of December, which will let you know how well your child is doing, and what you can do to support them.
Monday – Assembly with Mr Applegate
Wednesday – Assembly and tour for prospective parents for Sept 2014 (9:10am).
Wednesday – Family Library. 3.15pm.
Friday – Celebration Assembly
Our school debating club has been happening Thursday lunchtimes, with some great topics for discussion. So far, we have debated:
Our question for this week is “Should sportsmen and women be paid so much money?”
If you think your child would be interested, please do ask them to see Mr Applegate, who runs the club. There are a few spaces left!
Thank you to everyone for your generosity today! We've raised a total of £491.97 so far through our non-uniform day and cake sale. The money will be split between Children in Need and the Philippines.
So many cakes were donated that we couldn't actually sell them all! We'll sell them on Monday at break time for 10p each. Let's hope we get to the £500 mark. Thanks again
Dear Parents and Carers,
You will be aware of the terrible situation in many parts of the Philippines at the moment, due to the huge storm that hit the country last week. I am sure you have been as affected by the scenes on the TV as I have, and are as eager to help.
Therefore, in agreement with staff and pupils, we have decided to share the money donated on Friday between Children in Need and the Philippines DEC Emergency Appeal Fund; you may chose to give a little bit more for non-uniform day, or buy a few more cakes, or keep your donation the same. However, we do know that you money will go towards helping very needy people- whether children or adults.
Thank you
Mr Applegate
We’re thinking about respect this week. In our Remembrance Assembly tomorrow, we’ll be reflecting on the service and sacrifice of those who are or have been involved in conflict around the world. We’ll be holding a 2 minute silence at 11:11am, too.
Monday: Remembrance Assembly
Wednesday: Governor in school; Table Top Sale Cancelled
Thursday: Assembly with PSCO Steph Bradley, learning about respect and rules in our local community
Friday: Children in Need – Non Uniform Day and Cake Sale
On Friday 15th November, we’ll be joining in with the rest of the country in raising money for Children in Need. It will be a non-uniform day (for a donation of 50p), and there is a cake sale after school. Please can you bring in any cakes (without nuts) on Thursday or Friday! Thank you!
