Design and Technology
Design and technology develops critical thinking, risk taking, resilience and problem solving for all learners. It is a practical subject taught in all year groups. Each unit provides an opportunity for planning, creating and evaluating a product for a range of purposes, building on skills previously acquired. The units are planned within wider projects to ensure that all children develop technical knowledge and understanding of a wide range of materials and techniques. Children understand the contribution of design and technology to the wider world. Lessons ensure they have the relevant understanding and skills to be successful and confident as they move into the next phase of their learning.
