Young Interpreters morning! Jan 25

KFJS Young Interpreters had the pleasure of collaborating with the Young Interpreters from Cranbourne School for a fun-filled morning. The Year 8 Young Interpreters organised a series of activities designed to foster relationship-building and trust between the two groups. They also shared presentations about their home countries. Together, the children from both schools chose a country to focus on and created either a PowerPoint or poster to present their findings. The morning provided an opportunity to explore the different languages spoken at each school and share personal experiences of relocating to the UK. This was the first time the two groups had worked together, and we are excited to do it again in the future. Everyone gained valuable insights into each other's backgrounds and cultures. A big thank you to Mrs Corrigan and the Year 8 students from Cranbourne!

Anti-Racism Assembly & Workshop - Jan 25

Recently, we had the privilege of hosting Paul and Francis from the charity 'Show Racism the Red Card' at our school. They led an inspiring whole-school assembly that addressed the important topics of discrimination and the need for kindness toward one another. To build on these important lessons, students in Years 4, 5, and 6 took part in more in-depth class workshops. These sessions offered a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore and deepen their understanding of these crucial issues.

NSPCC Workshops - Oct 24

The NSPCC visited the school on 21st October to deliver workshops to all of the children in year five and six. The children engaged in 'Speak out stay safe' lessons to help them understand they always have the right to feel safe, and that they can speak to a safe adult or Childline if they ever need help or support.

Year 3 visited Stonehenge on 9th October and had a wonderful time. Here are some pictures of what they got up to!

Multiply - Family Games Night

We welcomed Multiply to the school to host a phone free family games night. We had a great time!

Year 4 had a wonderful trip to the Discovery Centre in town on 20th September and enjoyed discovering the wide range of books on offer.

Foodbank Donations

A big thank you for all the generous donations to Basingstoke Foodbank. We were able to make a donation weighing a huge 45kg which is the equivalent for 106 meals! This will go a really long way in supporting local families.

Here is our certificate from the Foodbank with more details:
