Governors

Governors are a group of volunteers who provide support and direction to the school. They are highly valued members of our school team.

The role of the Governing Body is to:

  • Set the aims and objectives for the school - including the policies and targets for achieving these
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards achieving the aims and objectives
  • Be a source of challenge and support to the headteacher

I am delighted to be a governor at Kings Furlong Junior School and look forward to working alongside governors in our wonderful school.  I moved to Hampshire many years ago and have been extremely lucky to have been a teacher in Hampshire and Surrey schools for most of my working life and recently retired as a headteacher in a Surrey school.  I was privileged to have had such an exceptional and exciting career doing something I loved, helping to make a difference for children, staff and parents.  I am aware of the crucial role governors play in school and believe my experiences in education will help support me in this role.  My interests include reading, theatre, swimming and visiting art galleries.

I am excited to be part of the great team here at Kings Furlong Junior School.
