  • Choir perform at the Anvil

    Sun 29 Jun 2014

Our amazing choir sung their hearts out at the Anvil this afternoon! They joined around 100 other children in singing a variety of songs, as well as with the Hampshire Youth Orchestra. The Kings Furlong Junior Choir were the largest! It was simply brilliant, and we are so proud of our pupils. A huge thank you to Mrs Chapman and Mrs Brace for making it possible, and Mrs Wang for helping on the day. Listen to the songs below- not quite the quality of the real thing!

  • Young Interpreters Strive for Excellence

    Fri 27 Jun 2014

Well done to our 12 Young Interpreters, who took part in a Hampshire Conference today. Many of them took home a medal that was awarded to children who were notably ‘Striving for Excellence’; some children got more than one medal! They were all polite, well mannered and tried their best at all the workshops.

They were a real credit to our school, and we are so proud of them. Thank you to Mrs Brace and Mrs Hunt for making it all possible.

  • Know the truth about social media sites!

    Wed 18 Jun 2014

We’re aware that some of our pupils use social media websites like Facebook or Twitter, particularly from a mobile phone or tablet. We’ve put together a brief guide to make our parents aware of the potential dangers of the sites. You’ll also find some advice about what you can do should you or your child come into difficulties. Whilst we don’t want to scare anyone, we do find that sometimes parents just aren’t aware of the issues that can arise. Please do ask should you have any questions.

Key points for keeping your child safe on the internet:

    • Set boundaries in the online world just as you would in the real world.
    • Talk to your child about what they’re up to online. Don’t leave them alone!
    • Keep up-to-date with your child’s development online. How are they communicating with others online?
    • Keep all equipment that connects to the internet in a family space.
    • Know what connects to the internet and how.
    • Use parental controls on devices that link to the internet, such as the TV, laptops, computers, games consoles and mobile phones.
    • Lock down sites so that the information isn’t public.
    • Obey age restrictions, particularly on social media sites.
