  • SCL at Kings Furlong Junior School

    Fri 15 Feb 2019

It is with regret that we will be stopping our After School Care provision running from Kings Furlong Junior School at the end of the Spring Term due to the low number of children that are using the service. Our staff have worked hard to continually provide the outstanding service that both Kings Furlong and SCL expect over the last 18 months however unfortunately, the demand for the after school service is currently not there and so not feasible to run. The Breakfast Club however, will remain running from the school as normal by our dedicated team and bookings for the Summer Term will shortly be live.

Should you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact SCL’s Customer Service team on 0345 644 5747 or on enquiries@wearescl.co.uk where they will be more than happy to help.

    Many Thanks,

    Jack Fisher
    Regional Manager SCL

  • Snow Homework!

    Fri 01 Feb 2019

School is closed today (Friday 1 February), due to snow.

Some homework to keep you busy while the school is closed:

    1. Play out in the snow (make sure you are wearing warm clothes!)
    2. Make a snow man, snow angel or any type of ‘snow’ creation!
    3. Take a picture of your creations and email them to adminoffice@kingsfurlong-jun.hants.sch.uk so we can share the fun you are having!
    4. Get stuck into a good book (you could write a book review!)
    5. Play some maths games – count how many snowballs you can make!

We look forward to seeing you all back at school next week.

  • Snow Plan

    Thu 31 Jan 2019

As there is a possibility of heavy snowfall overnight, we wanted to remind parents/carers of our snow plan.

Along with the Infant School and Nursery, we will make every effort to open in the event of snow. We will text all parents/carers to let you know of our intentions, as early as we can. Our website will be updated regularly, but in the first instance http://www.hants.gov.uk/schoolclosures provides details of all emergency closures.

If there is significant snow, we cannot guarantee that pathways into school will be clear or safe so please take great care when walking on the school site. The Junior school gate leading on to the playground will remain locked during snowy weather. Entry to the Junior School will therefore be via the Infant School gate further up the hill on Kings Furlong Drive, or from Upper Chestnut Drive (see attached map). Please avoid driving whenever possible and in particular along Portacre Rise and Upper Chestnut Drive. Please use your own best judgement as to whether it is safe for you and your children to attempt to come to school. For your child’s comfort, please consider sending in a change of footwear/socks/tights. We do request that you still inform us, as usual, of any absences from school.

In the event that there is bad weather during the school day, parents/carers will be informed by text message of their responsibility to collect their children promptly at the agreed time.

    Thank you for your understanding.
