  • Young Interpreters Conference

    Fri 05 Jul 2013
Well done to our Young Interpreters, who attended the Basingstoke conference this week. They had the chance to try out various unusual activities, share their knowledge of their own culture and language, and also meet other Young Interpreters from the area. Thank you to Mrs Peggrem for all that she does to make Young Interpreters happen so successfully!

  • Stairwell Painting

    Fri 05 Jul 2013
12 of our talented artists have been working with several Cranbourne pupils over the past few months. This is a great joint venture, and they’ve worked together to come up with ideas and drawings that help demonstrate the values of our school. It’s work in progress, but they have made a fantastic start! Come and have a look at the Year 4/6 stairwell!
  • Pencil Cases

    Tue 02 Jul 2013
Just to re-iterate that as from September 2013, children will not need to bring in pencil cases (indeed, they aren't allowed to!). The school will provide all that is needed. This is to save space at school, avoid unnecessary time lost in lessons, and ensure that all children have all necessary resources at all times. It will, of course, save money for parents too.
  • Year 2 Parents and Pupils Welcome!

    Mon 01 Jul 2013
We look forward to meeting our Year 2 parents and pupils on Tuesday morning. We'll start off at 9am with tea, coffee and refreshments, and then at 9:15am, Mr Applegate will have a chat with the parents about our school. At 9:45am, the pupils will join us for an assembly, followed by a tour of the school. We look forward to meeting everyone!
  • Tudor house models by Year 4

    Sat 29 Jun 2013

Well done to Sam in Year 4 for creating an amazing model of a Tudor house for part of his homework project. He wasn’t the only one; there were so many carefully constructed models by the other Year 4 pupils! Look out for them in the classrooms. Well done 4B and 4HJ!

  • KFJS pupils perform at Anvil

    Tue 25 Jun 2013
Good luck to several of our pupils who are singing in the Basingstoke Primary Schools Festival at the Anvil tonight and tomorrow. This year's concert, 'Space – The Primary Frontie', will contain a whole variety of music on the theme of Space; including well known pieces such as the theme from E.T, Thunderbirds, When You Wish Upon a Star and a number of pieces from the popular Blastoff musical. A particular thanks goes to Mrs Cobbold for making it happen for our school.

  • What an artist!

    Mon 24 Jun 2013
Our pupils are very talented! Here is a half-drawing of Henry VIII by Mia in Year 4. We think it's great, as it shows clear detail and careful attention. The children in assembly today were amazed by it.

  • What is life like when you are blind?

    Thu 20 Jun 2013
Today we had an excellent assembly with our special guests Dave and Faye. Dave lost his sight many years ago, and shared what life is like having no vision at all. He showed us various gadgets that he uses to help him live a normal life, including a device that tells him what colour his clothes are. He also brought his guide dog Gary, who was very well behaved! It really helped us understand what life is like, and we look forward to seeing Dave, Faye and Gary around the school more often.
  • Pupils show off their sporting ability!

    Thu 20 Jun 2013
What a fantastic sports day today! And the weather held off! Well done to our amazing pupils, who showed the true spirit of sports- teamwork, competition and enjoyment. They were simply brilliant, and we are very proud of them. Thank you also to the parents, relatives and friends who helped make the day so enjoyable. So many commented on the great atmosphere, the attitude of the pupils, and DJ Mr Hanson who helped keep things ticking along. Finally, a huge thank you to Miss Sheppard for her overall organisation in making the day a success.
