Choir Fest 2018 – come and join us!
Saturday 7 July 2018
The Big Top Tent, Wyvern School, Fair Oak, SO50 7AN
We are looking for school and community choirs to join us at the Big Top Tent and help us in delivering an all day programme of choirs and singing. You will join all five of the Youth Choirs as well as hopefully school choirs, showing our young people how they can continue their passion for music after they have left education and what else is on offer throughout the county.
Alongside all the singing we will be hosting a second open mic stage run by our members which anyone will be able to register for (details to come after Easter). There will be pop up performances and other activities, as well as a BBQ and beverages available – it will be quite a festival atmosphere!

We are taking part in Walk to School week next week!
Children will be asked to log their journeys to and from school each day. The class with the most will win extra golden time!
If you are unable to walk the whole way, you can park the car away from the school gates and walk the rest of the way. See the ‘Park and Stride’ map here for ideas of places to leave the car.
Spotlight are holding a Performing Arts Festival! The money raised will help support local families and children in need. Please see poster below for full details.
As with many online games, Fortnite: Battle Royale comes with risks to children and young people. The game is PEGI rated at 12+ however, there is no proof of age required, which can expose younger children to violent content as well as inappropriate comments from older users. The Online Safety Team have put together a FREE guide for schools and parents with more information about the game to help you keep children safe:
Don’t forget that we’re taking part in the Big Pedal next week!
Year 3 held a competition to design a poster to promote the event – well done to the winners: Sahasra, Scarlet and Abbey. You can view their winning designs in the slideshow below.
Get set… we’re taking part in Sustrans Big Pedal 2018, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge! Running from Monday 30th April to Friday 4th May, the aim is to inspire pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school. Letters with further details have been sent home with children today, or you can click here to view.
Bikes and scooters can be left at the bike racks or railings closest to your child’s normal entrance door. Please remind children to wear a cycle helmet and keep safe on their journey. We would also like to remind parents that the school cannot take responsibility for any damage to bikes and ask for bikes not to be left on the school site overnight.
Enjoy the ride!
