  • Year 6 football team make final

    Thu 04 Jun 2015
Well done to our brilliant Year 6 football team, who made the final at a tournament in Winchester this afternoon. The final was a draw, and went into penalties! However, they didn't give up hope, but were very unfortunate to lose at the last hurdle with the game finishing 5-4. The team should be extremely proud of themselves. Their skill, passion, sportsmanship and determination showed what high quality KFJS pupils they really are. Thank you also to our parents who supported us, and to Mrs Steadman and Mr Smith for organising the event.
  • ‘Visitor’ assembly today

    Wed 03 Jun 2015
It was great to have our very own Mrs Bristow answer questions in our 'visitor' assembly today. She shared about how she came to be our Senior Admin Officer, and how working hard and doing your best is so important. The children asked great questions as usual.

We hope you have had a restful half term.

As we enter our final half term of the year, we'll be focussing on a learning behaviour each week. Our theme this week is 'Responsibility'- particularly thinking about being responsible for our actions- both good and bad!

On Monday, Mr Applegate leads our assembly. Our Anvil choir are practising at St Mark's Primary School for the day.

On Tuesday morning, our Year 5 pupils take part in taster sessions at Cranbourne. Our Year 3 and 4 pupils are take part in activities with children from St John's Primary school, on the theme of friendship.

On Thursday, our Y3 pupils continue to support Y2 pupils by having story time and break time at the infant school.

We finish the week on Friday by practising for Sports Day in the morning, followed by our celebration assembly after lunch.

The Y5 and Y6 rugby team did themselves and the school proud at a

improved performances as the day went on. Tries were scored in every
game with the team winning twice.

A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who completed their SATs tests last week. There's still a lot of work to do in the coming weeks, but we are very proud of them. I must also say thank you to our Year 6 team, who have put in an incredible amount of work and effort this year to support our pupils.

It was great to have Fran from IBM visit us last Wednesday; she inspired our pupils about life in the world of work. This week, we welcome Janet, who works in Human Resources for a large national company.

On Monday, Mr Taylor from Planet Sport leads our assembly, talking about our new initiative to have Planet Sport lead sporting activities during lunchtimes. Child will also be signing up for our Diploma Day on Friday morning.

On Tuesday, we have our singing assembly.

On Wednesday, we wish our Yr5/6 Rugby team good luck as they take part in a Basingstoke Tournament run by Hampshire Police.

On Friday, we have our Diploma morning. Children take part in an activity that aims to develop their learning behaviours, learning a new skill, with children from other year groups. Activities that the children can chose from include cooking, animation, crafts, knitting, football, rounders, making torches, wacky races, ninja men and rocket fingers!

    Have a great week!

  • Travel Survey Results

    Thu 14 May 2015

The results of our survey in March have now come in, and you can see them attached. They make quite interesting reading!

The consultation on Tuesday 12th May regarding the proposed expansion of the infant and junior school was well attended. Generally, people were positive about the expansion proposals, as long as the implications for additional traffic were carefully considered and planned for. Lots of creative ideas were put forward by residents and parents, and these ideas will be taken forward by the council as part of their planning application.

In school, we’ll be looking at how to improve the traffic situation, thinking creatively and positively to make a difference in our community!
