  • Success at the Rugby Tournament…

    Thu 03 Apr 2014

Wow, well done Kings Furlong!  On Tuesday 1st April our Year 4 rugby team went to Basingstoke Rugby Club to compete in a schools tournament.  The children showed fantastic teamwork and played their socks off.  They won 3 of their matches and drew 1.  Following such great results the team was entered into the final.  Unfortunately they didn’t win this last game but 3 – 2 was a great result.  The children were a real asset to our school and should be complimented on both their team spirit and sportsmanship.

  • This week at KFJS

    Sun 23 Mar 2014

Our theme this week is responsibility. Quite often we have to make hard choices because of our responsibilities, and we want our pupils to develop a sense of ‘doing the right thing’, and understanding the consequences of decisions.

Remember that Disco and Easter Egg tickets are on sale in the community room from 3pm each day.

Thank you for everyone’s efforts for Sports Relief- we raised over £225! Wow!

Finally, look out for Bags2School bags, which are being given out this week. Have a clear out of your clothes and textiles, and raise money for our school!

Monday– Miss Dunn leads our assembly on “Choices and Changes”. Year 5 parents in to build shelters as part of topic work!

    Tuesday– Year 6 workshops

Wednesday– School closed due to industrial action. Look out for possible activities on the website!

Thursday– Year 4 Listen2Me concert- all parents invited!

    Friday – Celebration Assembly

  • Sports Relief 2014

    Fri 21 Mar 2014
Today, our pupils and staff raised money for Sports Relief by having a non-uniform day. They also took part in a mini sports day in the afternoon. The weather held off, and we had a really enjoyable and competitive time! Well done everyone!
  • What a lot of confidence!

    Mon 17 Mar 2014
In our assembly today, we had gymnasts, pianists, kick-boxers, guitarists, dancers and boys showing their taekwondo skills. What talent they have, and what confidence- all done in an enjoyable and humble way. We are very proud of them!

  • Sport Relief 21st March 2014

    Fri 14 Mar 2014

Sports relief is coming up on the 21st of March and as a school, we would like to raise money for this great cause. There will therefore be a non-uniform day on Friday the 21st of March where we would like the children to wear something sport related.  Also, the children in Year 5 have been learning about Brazil this term and have spent time looking into a charity called ‘Street Child World Cup.’ They are very keen to raise money for this charity and so we have decided to split the money raised from the non-uniform day between Sports Relief and Street Child World Cup. We ask that pupils who do choose to take part bring a suggested donation of £1 on the day.
