  • Chris Hall from Parability

    Wed 11 Sep 2013
It was great to have Chris with us in assembly today. He shared a little about life as a wheelchair user, and spoke about the organisation he is setting up, which aims to break down barriers and improve attitudes to disabled people. Chris told us he wants to encourage people to be active, particularly through sport, and shows pictures of some of the racing he does. We look forward to learning and partnering with Chris in the future!
  • Playtime news!

    Tue 10 Sep 2013

In July, we asked our pupils what they would like to see more of a KFJS to make their school even better. Playtimes are obviously a crucial part of their day. Click here to read the letter and see some of their suggestions!

  • This week at KFJS

    Sun 08 Sep 2013

What a great first week we had! Our pupils settled back into routine well. The week ahead is full of excitement and learning as school starts in earnest. We’ll be thinking about one of our school values, community.Monday: Assembly by Mr Applegate after lunch, on how pupils are part of so many communities.
Wednesday: Chris Hall, from Parability, will be sharing on life in a wheelchair, and all about the organisation he set up in Basingstoke.

Thursday: Merit assembly, moved forward a day. We celebrate stars of the week, and find out which colour teams have got the most points!
Friday: Please come to the parents open afternoon, 1:30pm for tea/coffee,
1:45pm meeting with Mr Applegate to learn about our school, then 2:15pm into class with your child, to
take part in an activity with them, and learn a bit about more about the
    year group.

  • Generous donation of IT accessories

    Thu 05 Sep 2013

A huge thank you to Mr Ward, the parent of a Year 6 pupil, who's company donated some much needed IT accessories to our school. The items will help our IT systems to function better and be even more secure. We really appreciate the effort Mr Ward put in to make this happen, and the generosity of his company, Kensington.com.

Another example of our school community helping each other out!

  • Thank you

    Tue 03 Sep 2013
A huge thanks to all the pupils, parents, and older siblings who joined in our 'Courtyard Clear-up' this afternoon, responding to our SOS text. They did a brilliant job in weeding and cleaning up the area, returning it to it's former glory. A extensive littering picking session afterwards made a fantastic difference to the school grounds. What a great community we have
  • Guitar Exam Success!

    Wed 28 Aug 2013
Well done to Yingji, Grace, Taylor, Mia, Cullen, Jasmine, Abigail, Jorja, Meadbh, Jasmine, Samuel, Malachi, Ken, Sophie, and Dillon, who all passed their first guitar exam (issued by the London College of Music). They've been learning for a year, and Mr Maycock said they were all ready to do the exam- many passing with a distinction. Well done everyone!

  • Stairwell progresses

    Tue 23 Jul 2013

It's looking fantastic! Thank you to our gifted artists who have put in so many hours to make our mural so amazing. Thanks also to Mrs Chapman and Holly for their efforts in making it so successful. It's almost there!

  • Year 6 Award Presentation

    Mon 22 Jul 2013

Well done to our Year 6 pupils who received an award this morning in our final assembly of the year. They were given to pupils who have worked in a way that is over and beyond what is expected- and that is a great deal anyway! It was a hard to make the decisions, and we are proud of all of our Year 6 pupils.

  • More money raised for Naomi House

    Mon 22 Jul 2013
Well done to our Year 3 pupils, who raised £23.78 for Naomi House, our local hospice for children and young adults. To raise the funds, they sold artwork they created to parents; an excellent idea by Meadbh!
