A warm welcome back to school after the Easter Break!

The KFJS Election Fortnight is here! During the next two weeks, we will be holding our own KFJS election, with the pupils putting forward their ideas on how to improve our school. Everyone will have a vote, and throughout the process, the children will be learning about democracyrights, and elections. Of course, the winning idea will be carried out!

On Wednesday, we will be welcoming Susan Bowen from Hewlett Packard, who will be inspiring us about the world of work.

Finally, don’t forget that Mrs O’Brien officially retires on 30th April. Please do pop in and say ‘Hello’ before she leaves! Mrs Bristow joins us from Monday, and we look forward to her settling in and becoming part of the team.

Monday – Assembly with Mr Applegate. Year 6 Workshops after school.

Tuesday – Singing Assembly. Year 6 Workshops after school.

  • Pupil raises funds by keeping quiet!

    Thu 26 Mar 2015

Over £150 was raised by Charlotte last week after she took part in a sponsored silence, and also helped organise and run a coffee morning! The money was presented by the Year 5 pupil to Sebastian’s Action Trust during the visit to Bluebells yesterday. What a thoughtful – and quiet – thing to do! Well done Charlotte; we are all very proud of you!

  • Aspirations Assembly Strikes Again!

    Wed 25 Mar 2015
A huge thank you to Mrs Strachan for speaking to our pupils today. They heard about what it’s like working as a duty manager for the Anvil and Haymarket theatres, and how our learning behaviours continue into the workplace! Brilliant! Mrs Strachan finished by leaving us a quote from Dr Seuss- see below
  • Sebastian’s Action Trust Visit

    Wed 25 Mar 2015

Several of our school council took a trip to Bluebells, the residential centre run by Sebastian’s Action Trust. It provides respite breaks for very ill children and their families. We’re supporting the charity because we want to help children and families who are less fortunate than ourselves, and who need our help. Our pupils were quite moved by all that they saw. A wonderful opportunity.

  • KFJS football teams makes us proud!

    Tue 10 Mar 2015

Well done to our fantastic Y5/6 football teams who took part in a large tournament in Southampton last week. Both teams won 3 games and lost 2, and needless to say their sportsmanship was very good. We're very proud of them. There are more games on Monday against local schools.
